Normally, double basses are lost in the orchestra, there are no solo parts, at most duos. In the life of the musician, the double bass is lover, friend, enemy and impediment to a self-determined path. Social analysis, slapstick and milieu comedy and a tightly stretched arc that monologically and resolutely traces the vibrations of human interaction(s).

In the beginning was the play: in 1984, the publisher's assistant goes to the theater, enthusiastically tells her boss about this evening - et voilà: a successful writer is discovered; because Patrick Süskind (that's the name of the hitherto almost unknown author) also has a novel - not in the drawer, but in the folder - with which he and his publisher should write literary history: 'Perfume'. But - as I said - it all started with the play 'Der Kontrabaß'. And this is not only worth discovering on stage, but undoubtedly also between two book covers. In recent years, it has been one of the most frequently performed plays on German-speaking stages and has now been translated into 28 languages.
