"Der Mensch muss weg" is a musical tribute to the exceptional artist Georg Kreisler. Singer Maja Hilke and pianist Carolin Hlusiak dedicate their concert evening primarily to the lesser-known pieces by the musician, poet and cabaret artist, which are characterized by unsparing and poetically humorous, satirical texts and sophisticated music.

Maja Hilke sings, roars and reads her way through the evening with a voice full of modulation and brilliant expressiveness, accompanied by Hlusiak's pianistic virtuosity. Kreisler's biography, who was born in Vienna in 1922 and had to emigrate to the USA as a Jew in 1938, is presented in scenes and anecdotes. After his return to Europe in 1955, Kreisler frequently addressed the persistence of anti-Semitism and human and political failure.

The evening shows just how relevant his lyrics still are today. A concert to smile, laugh and reflect in equal measure.
