A black hat with a red feather, a big nose, seven knives and a pepper gun - this is how we know the notorious showcase villain Hotzenplotz. Otfried Preußler invented him almost 60 years ago, and since then young and old have known and loved the grumpy scoundrel, whom Kasperl and Seppel put a stop to in the end. Experience the new adventure now at the Planetarium Hamburg!

In this story, Constable Dimpfelmoser has a problem: once again, the notorious robber Hotzenplotz has broken out of the fire station. That's bad! Dimpfelmoser immediately declares a state of emergency. But the lovable rascals Kasperl and Seppel have an idea: everyone knows that the robber can't keep his hands off the silver. And isn't the moon made of silver? Wouldn't it be great if Hotzenplotz could simply be shot to the moon? The two of them quickly start building an ingenious moon rocket...

Where better to tell a story about the moon and a rocket than in a planetarium? Nowhere! That's why the Hamburg production company HO3RRAUM Media has staged the original images on the basis of an imaginative and elaborately produced WDR radio play adaptation especially for the 360-degree full-dome format. Children and adults alike can enjoy the lovingly illustrated radio play at the Hamburg Planetarium. As soon as the robber is caught, planetarium visitors also learn in a short excursion what the moon is really made of and how real astronauts manage to reach the moon.

At the time, Preußler probably had no idea that his books would sell over six million copies and be translated into 34 languages. Since then, three generations of enthusiastic readers have grown up with the striking ogre Hotzenplotz. The fourth story in the book series, "The Robber Hotzenplotz and the Moon Rocket", is now in circulation. Its discovery in 2018 - five years after Otfried Preußler's death - was a sensation. Originally written by him as a puppet show, it was rediscovered and turned into a read-aloud story by Susanne Preußler-Bitsch.
