Fear not; the island is full of noises, sounds and sweet airs that give pleasure and do not hurt.

The ship of Alonso, King of Naples, sinks in heavy seas. Together with his son Ferdinand, the Duke of Milan Antonio and other shipwrecked sailors, he manages to save himself on a nearby island. What the stranded men do not realize is that this island is ruled by Prospero. Following an intrigue by his brother Antonio, which cost him his rule in Milan, he landed there twelve years ago with his daughter Miranda. Familiar with magic, Prospero has subjugated the island's indigenous inhabitants, including the air spirit Ariel and Caliban, whom he regards as a savage. With their help, he has orchestrated the shipwreck that has now swept the noble travelers into his clutches of power. Is he out for revenge, for reconciliation? Or is he simply seeking justice? Meanwhile, the island spirits he has subjugated take advantage of the new situation to play their own games among the intrigues of the powerful. And when Miranda and Ferdinand fall madly in love, the wind changes again.

As one of Shakespeare's last works, first performed in 1611, the play is considered one of the most ambiguous due to the different genres it combines. Appropriation and the rise of colonialism play just as big a role in this poetic tale as the change in power and the idea of creation. The island as an experimental arrangement of possibilities poses the question as an exceptional situation: How would I deal with unrestricted power?
