Der zweite Schweigende Salon // RUE OBSCURE

In the organizer's words:

"GET LOUD!", "EXPAND RICHNESS!", "BE PRESENT!" seem to be basic rules in times of upheaval. But silence can also have power as a conscious communicative act. The second Silent Salon is part of a new series of discourses by the artists' collective RUE OBSCURE on the subject of silence as a multi-layered phenomenon. In May, it will be a guest at Kunsthaus Kannen, whose museum space has been designed for this evening by students from Münster Art Academy. This time, the focus is on silence with body and mind. Together with its guests, Dr. Kim de Wildt (religious scholar with a research focus on "spaces of silence") and Christoph Gerling (meditation expert, Benediktshof Münster), RUE OBSCURE takes a look at the power of inner contemplation: What does it take to find peace of mind and body, a deeper understanding and awareness? Why are some practices and places particularly suitable? And what role does the now booming 'market' for meditation and slowing down rituals play? The evening combines content input with a silent ritual and concludes with drinks and snacks.

Co-create: Visitors and residents of the Alexianer Campus are invited to participate in the design of the space by the students of the Kunstakademie Münster from May 27 to May 29.
