We begin to die as soon as we are born. But only when we consciously accept our own mortality do we truly begin to live. To enjoy every moment, to appreciate the moment 🖤.
That's why we celebrate death! We remember our deceased with prayers, festivities, music, food and colors. At the Wood Market, we prepare to greet our beloved dead and dance endlessly with them.
From 10/30 to 11/5 we celebrate Día de los Muertos with an altar, fiesta, cultural program and Mexican delicacies.
The spirits of the departed return to spend some time among the living, and so families and friends gather to greet the souls of their loved ones. The altar (ofrenda) is decorated with mementos, flowers, candles, candy, liquor, food and cigarettes-all gifts for our beloved departed.
Everyone is welcome to bring gifts and photos for the altar to celebrate death together.
