Dialogführung mit Künstlerin Rosa M Hessling - Rosa trifft Blau
In the organizer's words:
Tina Blau’s airy, light-filled paintings meet Rosa M. Hessling’s non-representational, vibrantly colored works at the Kunstmuseum Ahlen. You can discover firsthand how light and color create moods, why modernism began with Impressionism, and what connects a contemporary artist to Tina Blau: Rosa M. Hessling herself will be on hand to guide visitors through the exhibition in conversation with curator Martina Padberg.
An engagement with nature and an interest in the unique quality of light have connected these two otherwise very different painters across the centuries. The “Gardener of Light” presents impressive, vibrantly colored works that she creates using special pigments on various surfaces, offering viewers an intense visual experience. The artist, who was born in Zell/Mosel and now has her studio there again, draws inspiration from the Moselle landscape, from water’s reflections and glints. This direct engagement with nature and observable light phenomena connects her to her colleague from Vienna. The interplay between Tina Blau’s painting—which draws on changing outdoor lighting conditions—and a non-representational form of light painting, whose effect shifts with the viewer’s movement, unfolds a moving beauty and once again reveals the range of experiences art has to offer.
What interests Rosa M Hessling about Tina Blau? “The way light is rendered in her paintings, which permeates the depicted situations, turning them into a lived moment and inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in them … It is the painter’s gaze that penetrates the situation and creates an echo.”
