A very young man is on trial for murder. Twelve jurors are asked to decide whether he killed his father and should therefore be sentenced to death or whether he could be innocent after all. But only one of them really believes in the boy's innocence right from the start. Little by little, he manages to get the other jurors on his side with clever arguments. But is the murderer really innocent? Some of the jurors are not easy to convince, so the atmosphere quickly heats up - and not just because of the humid climate outside...
