Hannes (Sebastian Bezzel) actually has everything he needs to be happy: a loving family, a house in the countryside and a solid career as a writer. Although the big bestseller years are over, Hannes enjoys his life as a husband and father.

His family, however, sees things differently: Sara (Anna Schudt) and the children Carla (Kya-Celina Barucki) and Nick (Philip Müller) find his over-motivated care and late-boomer wisdom increasingly burdensome.

Then it all comes at once:

• The publisher discontinues Hannes' novel series

• Nick's A-levels look bad

• Carla moves out and starts a flat share

When his world finally turns upside down, Hannes capitulates - until he meets Vanessa (Judith Bohle). Can she finally get him out of his comfort zone?
