There are often powerful women behind great families - and the Feuchtwanger family was no exception. The rise of the German-Jewish family from the Fürth provinces to Munich's upper middle class would have been unthinkable without four generations of strong women. They steered the family's fortunes through historical turmoil, were pioneers, businesswomen and heroines. Munich historian and literary scholar Heike Specht(Die Ersten ihrer Art. Frauen verändern die Welt et al.) tells the story of the Feuchtwangers for the first time from a female perspective (Piper).
Together with author and presenter Amelie Fried, she will talk about extraordinary life plans from almost 200 years ago.
