Nature film followed by a discussion

In "Magic of the Moors", renowned nature filmmaker Jan Haft focuses on one of our most important and beautiful biotopes. As the times of day and seasons change, the film shows a place at the transition between water and earth, full of exciting contrasts. In addition to wolves moving through tufts of white cotton grass, cranes feeding their young in the marshland forest or gracefully dancing adders, we experience carnivorous sundew plants and delicate moss plants whose spores explode with a crash.
BUND North Rhine-Westphalia is committed to preserving these important habitats. Following the film, the project "Renaturation of mire habitats on the Bergische Heideterrasse", a narrow strip of landscape between the Ruhr in the north and the Sieg in the south, will be presented. Possible local hands-on activities will also be explained. For example, volunteers can help to close drainage ditches and carry out biotope maintenance measures.
