Die Maus im Porzellanladen

In the organizer's words:

We teach our children not to hit back but to forgive. Forgive - even if someone destroys what is dearest to me?

Wolfdietrich Schnurre, founder of Literatur-Gruppe 47, left behind a short fable that was published posthumously as a picture book, illustrated by Aljoscha Blau. Here, the elephant in the china store turns the saying from which it originates on its head: he cherishes and cares for the fine crockery with the greatest care and sells it at proud prices to wealthy lovers. One day, a "poor little" mouse comes along, a bit of a riot today, just wants a cheap bowl of soup but leaves a huge pile of broken pieces behind.

"Everything's broken, a thousand sharp shards, it'll never be the same again."

Fortunately, the neighbors have called the police, who are on the scene immediately. But then everything takes an unexpected turn...

Under the direction of Matthias Schönfeldt, the ATZE Musiktheater brings this story to the stage. With music by Iljá Pletner and masks by Frida Grubba, the result is a bizarre musical tale with mask play and dance.
