INTERNATIONAL SUMMER FESTIVAL 2024

Stella Sommer and Drangsal are coming out of the pantry as supergroup Die Mausis, where post-punk band EÖE are preparing for the end of the world.

Die Mausis are the smallest supergroup in this country in terms of personnel and, measured by artistic audacity, also the largest: It consists of Stella Sommer and Max Gruber alias Drangsal and has so far only peeked out of its mouse hole once live. After an EP with the hit "Was kann ein Mausi dafür" and the sad Christmas song "A Mausi Christmas", the two now have a debut album on the cheese board that packs a punch: "In einem blauen Mond" shows two songwriters in top form, confidently quoting their way through pop folk and country, Johnny Cash double bass included. At the summer festival, maus can finally hear new songs such as the financial manifesto "Ich leg mein Geld in Käse an" or the idiosyncratic supersong "Der Supergouda" live. And to make sure the evening really hits the cheese waves, the sextet Erregung Öffentlicher Erregung will open the "pantry of the end of the world". This is the name of the new album by "possibly the best new German band of recent years" (Musikexpress), which also happens to feature one half of the summer festival graphic duo on bass. Peppered with culinary metaphors, this band informed by kraut and punk traces the big meal before the apocalypse. In other words, the typical fate of the mouse.
