Are we the same person we used to be or does time change us? Can we lose our ego? Can we truly perceive our fellow human beings or do we only ever see reflections of our own thoughts in them? Julia Spadaccini deals with these and other questions in The Siren Next Door.
Lenita, Rui, their children and their grandmother live more or less side by side in a small apartment in Rio de Janeiro. Then one day Sascha, a singing teacher, moves into the apartment next door. The mysterious "stranger" brings unexpected and surprising changes to their everyday lives - and what begins as a comedy becomes increasingly dark and dramatic.
