Theresia Erfort and Eva Marianne Kraiss invite you to Phantásia. But Phantásia is not a place you can go to. Phantásia is a place you can only travel to in your imagination. It is therefore an invitation to dream together.
For many, it will be a reunion with old friends, as The Neverending Story has been a firm fixture on German bookshelves for more than 40 years. It is considered a modern classic of children's and young adult literature and continues to fill children's heads around the world with magic.

At the beginning, the reading takes the audience to Karl Konrad Koriander's antiquarian bookshop and from there it continues on to the natural stage - and right into the middle of the adventure journey with Bastian, Atréju and Fuchur.
Accompanied by music and imaginative stage elements, the book is not only read aloud, but also acted out by the two actresses.
The art installation by Cologne artist Lioba Wagner, which can be seen on the natural stage, invites you to explore the fantastic world. The fine fabrics stretched between the branches of the large tree are in red and green - just like the two worlds of the never-ending story. The work of art behind the two performers glows like a huge, open book.
