The Neverending Story

Bastian Balthasar Bux flees from his teasing classmates to the antiquarian bookshop of Mr. Karl Konrad Koreander. The strange Mr. Koreander is reading an even stranger book: "The Neverending Story". Bastian is magically attracted - he can't help himself, he has to steal the book. Breathless, he hides with it and begins to read: about the boundless realm of Phantásia, which is threatened by nothingness, about the Childlike Empress, who is terminally ill, about the heroic Atréju and about Auryn, the symbol of power and wisdom. "Do what you want" is written on it. And Bastian trembles: Does this mean him? Is he the human child who is allowed to do whatever he wants? When the Childlike Empress calls him with the last of her strength, Bastian gathers all his courage and dares to make the leap to Phantásia. He gives her the name Moonchild and receives Auryn from her. But almost too late, Bastian realizes what his true task is: to find the wish that can lead him out of Phantásia again. But how do you leave a realm that has no borders?
