Motherland

The internationally renowned double bassist and composer Dieter Ilg, who has already released 25 albums as leader or co-leader and a number of recordings as a sideman, has an impressive track record. The album "motherland" combines his long-standing trio with current and individual themes, personal backgrounds and subtle music to create an enjoyable melange.

"It is the first time that we have not fused a classical composer as a "theme" with our style, but rather a colorful mixture of my favorite songs, various original compositions, pop songs from the 60s and 70s and personal reminiscences. Naturally seasoned with a dose of humor, stubbornness, wildness, solid grounding and stubborn, immeasurable affection. "MOTHERLAND" is thematically dedicated to my origin, my heritage and tradition, the protection of the mother earth and feeling at home." - Dieter Ilg
