Diverse reading, writing and speaking - theme day

On this year's Diversity Day, we are looking at how reading, writing and communicating can succeed so that all people in our diverse society can participate. Events will include a variety of activities, including writing workshops and staged readings, some of which will be accessible to both hearing and non-hearing people. The Bücherhallen Hamburg will also present an inclusive picture book cinema for children aged 4 and over and adults, dealing with issues such as the visibility of different groups and body images.

"A funny bird" in German sign language - inclusive picture book cinema for children aged 4 and over and adults by Sarah Köver.
A strange egg is in the nest! Of course, Mrs. Blackbird notices this immediately. But what difference does one egg more or less make, she thinks to herself and simply hatches it. But instead of a cuckoo, as everyone had assumed, a dragon hatches from the strange egg. And it's now so VERY different from the blackbird family, which causes all kinds of chaos. But when winter suddenly arrives, the little dragon has a great day. Who would have thought how nice it can be to be a little different ..."

"Florian" in German spoken language - inclusive picture book cinema for children aged 4+ and adults by Sarah Köver.
Florian is trans. For as long as he can remember, he has known that he is a boy at heart and in his head. When he finally finds the courage to tell his parents and grandparents about his feelings and his new name, they react with understanding. Suddenly everything changes and Florian's self-confidence blossoms: He can dress like a boy and just be himself. Will the children and teachers at school be as tolerant and welcome him?

Workshop: Body_images with Tâm* and Tamo* from mehr_blick
In this workshop, we will explore body_images together through playful and practical exercises based on children's and picture books. Every body is unique - and every body tells a story. Which stories and ideas are told - and which are not? Where and how do (our) bodies appear? And which stories are we missing?
For young people and adults. The workshop will be held in German spoken language.

Finding stories. Writing workshop Chantal-Fleur Sandjon
Do stories find us or are they invented? In this workshop, we will explore this question in a playful, writing-based way, becoming (discoverers) of narrative threads and fragments. We will trace their origins and reflect on whether and how this process is rooted in our own biographies and experiences.
No previous experience necessary. In German spoken language, in writing with space for all languages.
