Slow Club Freiburg presents: DIVES + Timberau

DIVES are back!
After their Slow Club debut last year, we are delighted that DIVES want to come back to us and that we can continue the series after dear Chico brought them to the most beautiful swamp in Freiburg - the Swamp - for the first time in 2018 and ensured a packed bar. - Here's to Chico.

The group can be called one of Vienna's most successful indie pop bands without false modesty.

Since their formation in 2016, Dora de Goederen (drums), Viktoria Kirner (vocals, bass) and Tamara Leichtfried (vocals, guitar) have played more than 150 concerts in over ten countries. With the new album "Wanna Take You There", the band is now presenting its second longplayer.

DIVES have donned a new pop guise for it:
Their indie sound seems even catchier and continues to be characterized by polyphonic vocal harmonies, lyrically the band is more personal than usual and yet a large part of their refined, pointed lyrics can be read as a direct declaration of war against social incongruities.

Light-footed but self-confident, they tell of friendships and longings, of self-care and solidarity against the coldness from outside.

Music as an antidote to brutalization:
DIVES songs give support and have attitude.
And come together to form a great feat that heralds the fall of the patriarchy with a wink and nonchalance.

TIMBEAU
This is a groovy, light-footed sound that combines the synthesizer sounds of dream pop with guitars that can be funk, post-punk or a classic pop song and is always carried by driving basslines. German-language lyrics are sung over them, sometimes gloomy, sometimes kitschy, dealing with topics such as critical masculinity, psychological issues or lovesickness. The lyrics are mostly wrapped in a poetic and sometimes abstract word garment.

Timbeau is both the solo project of Tim Bohner and the band consisting of Tim Bohner (drums), Hannes Scherf (bass), Florian Schirmer (keys) and Marius Schwingel (guitar), which enchants live with indie-esque synth-pop and soft post-punk energy.
