Another concert with a winning band of the performance grant jazz@undesigned of the Werner Richard - Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation presents the young band Dog Soup.

Founded in Cologne in 2023, the band sees itself as a collective "meta-instrument". The four musicians - Ben Jones (saxophone), Philipp Hayduk (trombone), Anna Größbrink (double bass) and Marius Lamm (drums) - develop their repertoire together from composition, graphic notation and free improvisation. The result is an organic, highly reactive body of sound with long arcs of tension, dense textures and theatrical climaxes. Their music moves between contemporary jazz, new music and performance. In 2024, Dog Soup performed at Cologne Jazzweek and WDR Campus Jazz, among others.
