Dominic Egli's PLURISM

In the organizer's words:

The Jazzraum presents at the Hafenbahnhof:

Feya Faku (trumpet, flugelhorn) (RSA) - Mthunzi Mvubu (alto sax, flute) (RSA) - Sisonke Xonti (tenor sax) (RSA) - Raffaele Bossard (double bass) (CH) - Dominic Egli (drums) (CH)
PLURISM combines musical influences from Switzerland and South Africa to create dynamic jazz compositions of contemporary jazz and African folklore. The quintet creates songlike melodies and multi-layered, driving grooves with palpable composure and playfulness.
When drummer Dominic Egli toured South Africa for the first time in 2005, he met South African trumpeter Feya Faku and the two formed an exciting musical friendship together with Raffaele Bossard (double bass). New to the band Plurism are the two outstanding South African musicians Sisonke Xonti on tenor saxophone and Mthunzi Mvubu on alto saxophone.
The quintet worked together on the new album "Umhlangano" (Zulu for assembly/gathering), which they will present live on their European tour in 2024.

Start: 19:30

The Hafenbahnhof is open from 18:00.
