Montréal-based singer-songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé is one of the most fascinating voices in vocal jazz today. The two-time JUNO Award winner draws on African-American traditions to create music that is deeply emotional and socially engaged. Her feat: to understand jazz, blues and soul as a stylistic tradition and at the same time to develop them unmistakably with her own means and to combine them with modern sounds. In 2026, Dominique Fils-Aimé will be touring the world with her new album "My World Is The Sun" and will also be stopping by at the Gretchen.

She already delved deep into the history of African-American music with her first trilogy: "Nameless" (2018) focused on the blues, "Stay Tuned!" (2019) focused on jazz and the civil rights movement, and "Three Little Words" (2021) was dedicated to soul.

The 2023 album "Our Roots Run Deep" marked the start of a new trilogy in which Fils-Aimé explored her own emotional and spiritual journey even more and incorporated French influences. The album once again underlined the importance of her artistic vision at the intersection of jazz, soul and blues and was awarded the JUNO Award 2024 for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year and the Félix Award 2024 for Best Jazz Album by the ADISQ organization. In February 2026, she will present the second chapter with the new studio album "My World Is The Sun". The single "Going Home" was already released in November 2025. With this project, Fils-Aimé continues her exploration of sonic, creative and spiritual freedom.

Dominique Fils-Aimé has already performed on renowned stages such as the Blue Note New York, the Blue Note Los Angeles and the Monterey Jazz Festival, as well as at Jazz à Vienne (as support act for Jamie Cullum) and at the North Sea Jazz Festival.
