The Danube Island Festival is practically the summer event in Vienna - and the best thing about it? It's completely free. No admission, no tickets, just go and party.

Every year in June, the Danube Island is transformed into a huge open-air stage for three days. Acts from a wide variety of genres play on several stages spread across the entire island - from pop and rock to pop hits, electronic and folk music. There's something for everyone, and that's exactly the point: the festival is aimed at everyone, whether young or old, music fan or simply looking for a good evening on the Danube.

The atmosphere is relaxed and exuberant - hundreds of thousands of people flock to the island every year, picnicking on the meadows, dancing in front of the stages or simply hanging out with a beer in their hands and letting the evening fade away. The gastronomy along the banks is in full swing, with the smell of barbecues and summer nights everywhere.

The Danube Island Festival is one of the largest open-air festivals in Europe - without charging a single euro for admission. This makes it a real Viennese highlight that you simply have to experience.
