Dornika ・ Pop-Kultur Festival 2026
In the organizer's words:
August 24–30, 2026 | silent green Kulturquartier, Festsaal Kreuzberg, Kulturbrauerei, Pierre Boulez Saal, and more
Live concerts, experimental music formats, talks, and more. You can look forward to international and local artists, world premieres, and music in all its forms—from large stages to intimate club shows.
Dornika is an Iranian-American artist based in Berlin. She’s a fixture of the city’s queer underground scene. She gained recognition with tracks like “Miniskirt” (in which she raps about liking boys in miniskirts) and “Nobody” (a confident self-identification as a fag, dyke, slut, cunt, and disease), which directly address issues of gender, race, sexuality, and body politics and function as empowering club statements. Musically, Dornika moves between dark electronic, hyperpop, and booty bass influences, with a clear nod to punk attitudes in the club context. Her sets and performances combine songwriting, rap, and production with a strong visual element. In addition to her work as a musician, she is also active as an activist, fashion designer, model, and award-winning director. Since her debut, Dornika has played over 150 shows across Europe. These include appearances at events such as Lunchbox Candy, Gegen, and Hoe_mies, as well as headlining slots at Pride events in Berlin, Munich, Copenhagen, Prague, Rotterdam, and Ljubljana.
