Printing with Lego: Discover an Unusual Printing Technique

Who says Lego is only for building? In this workshop, you’ll discover a whole new side to these colorful bricks. When printing with Lego, you’ll use special Lego bricks to design your own patterns, lettering, or small motifs. Then, your design will be rolled with linoleum print ink and printed onto paper. This way, you’ll create completely unique prints in no time at all. Whether simple and graphic or playful—every design is one of a kind.

An extraordinary printing technique

Beginners will, of course, receive support and helpful tips. If you already have experience and just want to be creative at your own pace, you’re free to use the materials and experiment to your heart’s content.

What makes this workshop special: Getting started couldn’t be easier. You can simply try things out, combine colors, and be surprised by how varied the results turn out to be. The hardest part is probably stopping. And this activity is especially addictive! :-)

Here’s what to expect when printing with LEGO

• Schedule: Introductory phase and personalized guidance for beginners. Free exploration for those who’ve done this before.
• Before the class: Feel free to bring your own ideas, but I’ll also have templates for you.
• Do it your way: Free choice of colors and materials.
• Everything you need is provided: tools, Lego Flat Tiles in various shapes and sizes, lightfast linoleum print inks, and colored papers.
• Spent too much time fiddling with it? Just come back and finish your print as a returning participant. 
• !!! Lego bricks and long fingernails aren’t always the best of friends. ;-)
