Dschingis Khan und die Welt der Mongolen
In the organizer's words:
The year 2027 marks the 800th anniversary of the death of Genghis Khan, the founder of the Mongol Empire. To commemorate this occasion, the Museum of Prehistory and Early History of the State Museums in Berlin is dedicating a major exhibition to this pivotal ruler.
Highly significant artifacts spanning half a millennium of nomadic equestrian cultures will be displayed in a diversity never before seen. They offer unique insights into the “Mongol Century,” which profoundly transformed the world between 1250 and 1350. Of particular significance are the findings of Mongolian-German research over the past two decades, which have revised and expanded our understanding of the Mongol Empire in many ways.
Archaeological treasures from Mongolia—many of which have never before been displayed in an exhibition outside Mongolia—are complemented by loans from Poland and Romania, as well as from the German Historical Museum, the Berlin State Library, and other collections of the Berlin State Museums.
