If you're looking for a weekend filled with community, belonging and visibility bringing front and center all things dyke*, then look no further. Created in 2023, DYKE* FESTIVAL BERLIN is an interdisciplinary event for lesbian, bi+, queer and TINA people (trans, inter, non-binary, agender), connecting and celebrating dykes* in all our glory. This year our vision remains the same; a weekend by and for dykes* prioritizing artistic expression, inclusivity, reciprocity and above all pure dyke* joy!
What is this project all about?
DYKE* FESTIVAL BERLIN first came about in 2023; a grassroots DIY event built from the ground up and run by volunteers in its entirety. Even with limited resources, the turnout was big and the message clear: we need a space that allows for the beauty and multiplicity of dyke* identities to join forces and make our perspectives and art forms visible; a space whose primary purpose is to strengthen a sense of community and the empowerment it brings to those seeking it.
This year we are proud to announce that the festival is back for another round! Help us make DYKE* FESTIVAL BERLIN 2026 come alive with a donation & receive an early ticket.
Every contribution means the world to us and we want to thank you in advance for it.
We are 100% donations-based and community-run, NOT profit-driven; everything we make goes towards the festival.
Below you will find recommended amounts, but each donation, independent of the amount, is considered entry. You give what you can: less if you need and more if you can, so others can give less. Doing so, you help us secure the venue and ensure fair artist compensation.
The 2026 edition is taking place over the weekend of August 22-23 at "ZK/U BERLIN - Center for Art and Urbanistics" in the Moabit neighborhood. Your donations tremendously help us secure a venue that not only has a rooftop, but is also fully wheelchair accessible (more info on accessibility coming soon!). It is our first time there and we're very excited to show you all that it has to offer.
As always, our goal with the festival is to connect local and international artists, thinkers, activists and a wide range of dyke* subjectivities. Our program will feature workshops and panel talks, DJ sets, drag and live performances, games, exhibitions and markets; that is, activities co-created in real time by participants, audiences and performers alike to express as many aspects of the dyke* experience and ingenuity as possible. Of course, beyond our curated program, there will be plenty of space to just be and to mingle with the dykes* you know (yes, your exes will probably be there too...) and the dykes* you have yet to meet.
Who is our target group?
We are an event for dykes* and their friends! For those who want to further appreciate dyke*ness through shared experiences and artistic exchange, for those who want to make new connections, for those who simply want to revel in the omnipresence of Lesbian Culture. Dykeness* is an identity and a lived experience that each of us embodies differently, and relates to differently; each nuance is meaningful and worthy of space and celebration. If you feel connected with that in any way, we are welcoming you to join :)
Our goal for the layout of the weekend's schedule is to start each day with activities that are more chill and kids-friendly, and gradually turn the volume and energy up as the day unfolds. We always aim for a diverse, inclusive, accessible and protected space for our dyke* community and their respectful allies, and we welcome feedback as to how we can improve the festival experience.
DISCLAIMERS:
Colonialist and transphobic attitudes are not welcome in our events, nor are any kinds of racist and ableist ideas.
We have a dedicated and trained awareness team on-site throughout the festival space, which you will be able to identify by its badges. The team will be there to provide support, mediate conflicts and ensure that everyone has a positive and respectful festival experience; do not hesitate to approach, as any reports or concerns will be handled with confidentiality.
Why should you support us?
I am sure by now we have described a dreamy weekend, but if you're the instant gratification type, please know that your donation independent of the amount gets you in (do arrive early, thought, as we always want to make sure we respect the venue's capacity for safety reasons). As we are 100% donations-based, each of your donations contributes to fair artists' pay, to increasing costs related to the venue, the tech gear and the workshop & performance materials.
RECOMMENDED DONATIONS:
22 EUR donation = entrance on Saturday
18 EUR donation = entrance on Sunday
35 EUR donation = entrance for the entire weekend
Please keep in mind that the above numbers are recommended prices; free donations are considered entry, independent of the amount. You give less if you need, more if you can.
Donations not only make the festival feasible in the first place, but keep it as accessible as possible; each person gives what they can and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds regarding the recommended amounts at the entrance; we are not profit-driven and we redistribute everything we make. We welcome those who have more to give to balance out the average in solidarity, help us secure the venue and ensure a fair outcome for artist compensation.
If you can't make it at the festival, but still want to support us, then use the free donation box and give what you want :)
How are the funds we raise utilized?
Allesbien is 100% volunteer-run and donations-based. We operate without external funding, without grants or sponsors, we are grassroots to the bone! DYKE FESTIVAL BERLIN* happens entirely thanks to the solidarity and contributions of our community, via the donations collected at our events throughout the year as well as the crowdfunding initiative at hand.
Every cent we receive is directly invested in the festival, covering venue and printing costs, tech gear, workshop & performance materials, which have increased since last year. Above all, our top priority remains to ensure a fair compensation for all participating artists and guarantee a minimum payment for all performers involved, rather than the "fair share of profits" model we used in the past.
Who is behind the project?
We are Allesbien, a lesbian collective founded in 2022 in Berlin. What we all have in common is our lesbianism; our desire to meet other lesbians* and celebrate dyke* culture in all its forms. We do so by organizing workshops and panel talks, a wide range of cultural outings, protests and parties throughout the year. Our biggest event is the annual DYKE* FESTIVAL BERLIN, where we gather to showcase all the talent and fun of our community.
Our wish is to create spaces of solidarity and visibility, of diversity and safety for Berlin dykes* to come together and rejoice. All of us work on a voluntary basis and are 100% donations-based. We come from different countries and as of now we speak German, French, Swedish, Greek, Croatian and Polish. This is why all of our events and the festival are held in English (unless otherwise specified).
