In the organizer's words:
Six poetry slams at special locations in Brandenburg will bring young voices, ideas and utopias to the stage under the motto "What material is tomorrow made of?". Instead of bars or theaters, the poetry competition takes place where history is visible: in former sanatoriums, in Rofinpark - and on the historic Finow Canal in Eberswalde.
The Finow Canal is the oldest navigable artificial waterway in Germany. For centuries, wood, iron and other goods were transported here, shaping the industrial development of the region. For one summer afternoon, the canal itself now becomes a stage: instead of goods, this time thoughts, stories and poems travel across the water.
Poets from the region and from all over Germany will compete against each other and present their self-written texts - humorous, political, poetic or personal. The audience decides who wins at the end.
Where goods once traveled, the Finow Canal now transports words.
The project is organized by the Stift & Mikro association, together with the SlamKollektiv Eberswalde and the Kiezpoeten from Berlin.
A project as part of "From here to the future - Kulturland Brandenburg 2026/2027".
