17th Kassel JazzFrühling

Kassel music history will be written in 2026! For the first time, the Edgar Knecht Trio and the Kassel State Orchestra will perform together, combining jazz, world music and European classical music to create a unique concert experience. The focus is on Edgar Knecht's Colors of Europe project - a musical declaration of love to the cultural diversity of the continent. Folk songs from France, Austria, Italy, Spain and Germany are reinterpreted and transformed into rousing grooves and moving ballads - all in a symphonic setting. A passionate plea for international understanding and a united Europe!
The successful collaboration between the Theaterstübchen and the Staatstheater Kassel regularly ensures sold-out houses - be it for the guest performances of world star Ute Lemper, the legendary Moka Efti Orchestra or the indie folk band Mighty Oaks, who were last seen at the opera house. Now comes another extraordinary project: a unique artistic blend between the internationally renowned Edgar Knecht Trio and the Kassel State Orchestra as part of the 17th Kassel Jazz Spring.
Two important Kassel cultural institutions are thus intensifying their close collaboration and creating an incomparable sound experience in the newly opened INTERIM.
