Klara is fed up. Her work as editor of a so-called women's magazine, the omnipresent sexism of the editor-in-chief, the expectations of her boyfriend and the miserable situation of women all over the world bring her to the brink of a feminist burn-out. When she is commissioned to write a story about a motorcycle-riding pastor, her research leads her to biblical female figures she has never heard of. How much it has to do with the prevailing gender relations how stories are told and passed down by women! While Klara writes down the story, more and more unknown numbers appear on her smartphone, inviting her to join a group called "Bible Bad Ass". They call themselves Magdalene, Mary, Ruth, Lilith, ... - what the hell is going on here?

Edith Löhle is a journalist and author. After working for lifestyle media for over ten years, most recently as editor-in-chief of the German NYLON and BLONDE magazines, her work now focuses on social justice. As the author of the ZDF documentary "Digital Empire: Programmed Injustice", she was nominated for the German Television Award in 2022. She also founded HeyNana.de, the grandma platform for intergenerational dialog. "Bible Bad Ass" is her literary debut.
