Simone is a successful electrical engineer and has just returned from a business trip. She brings a present for her husband Erik, who has been looking after the children and the household in the meantime. But Erik hesitates to open it.
A nice gesture? Or an expression of unspoken expectations?

And what if the roles were reversed? If Erik came home from his trip and Simone had stayed at home - would she be happy to receive a gift? Or interpret something into it?

Is it really irrelevant who takes on which role in a modern relationship? And is it even possible to remain true to one's own ideals of equality, partnership and love - without appearing unintentionally comical?

EGAL is a sharply observed, bitterly funny intimate drama about couples who want to do everything right - and who stumble precisely because of this.
