In the organizer's words:
The perfect gift for couples and those who hope to become a couple: “Zweikampfhasen,” playing regularly at Alma Hoppes Lustspielhaus.
In their two-person comedy, the Ehnerts tell their own story; how they fell head over heels in love, tied the knot after just one week, and eventually ended up where all married couples eventually end up—in the less-than-glamorous everyday reality of a relationship, with its absurd squabbles and highly dramatic arguments that always seem so ridiculous when viewed from the outside.
On German-speaking stages, the Ehnerts are now regarded as the experts on relationship struggles—a couple who are constantly at odds but still can’t give up on each other and will do anything to save their love.
But “Zweikampfhasen” isn’t just a highly endearing comedy about a couple; the Ehnerts also play all the people they encounter in their struggle to save their marriage: therapists, counselors, friends, and ex-partners. All of this is not only fast-paced and entertaining but also impressively performed and peppered with facts about the origins of marriage and its role throughout different eras and societies.
“Zweikampfhasen” is thus a very personal love confession by two actors, as well as a high-performance acting feat and a crash course on the subject of marriage. A theater evening full of punchlines that opens your eyes—and your heart. It doesn’t get any better than this!
