Kathleen Harrington is very popular with everyone. But then the lovely woman is shot dead in her own home after a reading by her brother Robert Sheldon. Was there a quarrel with a possible lover or a blackmailer? Why did the young housemaid Amy regularly bring mysterious packages to the post office? Mrs. Harrington's brother and his wife also seem to be hiding something. It's a good thing that an old friend and amateur detective is also a guest at the Harrington house at this very time, because no case is too mysterious, too complicated or too cold-blooded for the quirky old lady to shed some light on.
