presented by the Hamborn Abbey Wind Symphony with the scientists Prof. Axel Lorke and Dr. Nicolas Wöhrl
Impulsive pieces and dazzling sounds accompany us musically into a world that cannot be seen with the naked eye - the quantum world! How can we imagine it? How does it influence our everyday lives? With scientifically inspired pieces, we present a concert that brings you closer to the almost unimaginable phenomena of quantum science.
Prof. Axel Lorke and Dr. Nicolas Wöhrl will guide you through the program. In addition to their research on nanostructures at the University of Duisburg-Essen, both have been involved in science communication for many years. With the award-winning podcast "Methodisch Inkorrekt", Dr. Wöhrl reaches many thousands of science enthusiasts nationwide. As a young orchestra founded in 2021, the Blaesersymphonie currently consists of around 40 active woodwind, brass and percussion players from Duisburg and the surrounding area - from the Lower Rhine to far into the Ruhr region.
No prior academic knowledge is required for the concert!
