"Ein Sommernachtstraum" in der Fassung des Ensembles DéJE-vu

In the organizer's words:

Following the great success of Christina Kettering's "Black Swans" at bib International College, the theater ensemble DéJE-vu is now transforming the wedding hall of the historic Bergisch Gladbach town hall into the magical world of William Shakespeare's classic "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Under the direction of director Kristin Trosits, this venue will become the setting for an enchanted night full of love, chaos and supernatural events on June 20 and 27, 2026.

William Shakespeare's turbulent comedy tells the story of the feelings of four young lovers who are thrown into confusion by a magical juice. In the mysterious world surrounding the fairy king and queen Titania and Oberon, a game of intrigue, mistaken identity and confusion unfolds. In a theatrical experience full of surprises, the audience discovers who ends up at the altar and what a donkey has to do with the whole affair.

The DéJE-vu ensemble was founded in 2017 by director Kristin Trosits and former members of the Junges Ensemble Bergisch Gladbach. Since then, it has stood for lively theater in unusual places. In 2023, it was awarded the Bopp cultural prize by the City of Bergisch Gladbach's cultural association for its production "Benefiz".
