"Düsseldorf reads a book" - "Frankfurt reads a book": these festivals unite and inspire people. The people of Juist are now joining in: In the first edition of "Juist reads a book" (and thus also a real premiere, as we are the first island to take part in this format), Töwerland becomes a literary stage.
Bestselling author and Juist island child Sandra Lüpkes ("Die Schule am Meer", "Mein Juist") will exclusively present her new novel entitled "Ein Ort, der bleibt".

• Monday, April 20
  • Official welcome by the mayor & spa director as well as a video welcome by Sandra Lüpkes with music followed by a get-together with a drink included in the offer, 11:00 am
• Tuesday, April 21
• Wednesday, April 22nd
  • Concert: "Aufbruch" - Edda & Flute, 20:00 in the Haus des Kurgastes - accordion, flute and vocals
• Thursday, April 23
  • Celebration of the World Book Day. Islanders present their favorite book, 15:00 - 16:30 on the Kurplatz and in the village (exact locations will be announced on site)
• Friday, April 24
  • Workshop discussion between editor and author in the Haus des Kurgastes, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
  • Reading with Sandra Lüpkes from the novel "Ein Ort, der bleibt" followed by a meet & greet and final drink, 8:00 pm

Extensive supporting program for individual participation according to your mood:

• Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00 - 17:00: Open reading room in the North Sea Lounge / Small Hall (1st floor) in the Haus des Kurgastes
• Tuesday to Friday, from 17:00 - 18:00: daily reading meeting in the North Sea Lounge / Small Hall (1st floor) in the Haus des Kurgastes

  • Island walk "Juist in the old days". Meeting point: Inselmosaik Deichscharte15:00, additionally bookable, 12 € per person
• Wednesday, April 22
  • Natural history tour of the island by staff from the National Park House. Meeting point: National Park House, 3:30 p.m., can be booked additionally, €12 per person
