Eine Reise durch das Leben Jean Sibelius – ein musikalischer Reisebericht

The Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865-1957) is considered one of his country's most important musicians. "Music begins where the possibilities of language end" - this is how he formulated his artistic approach in the Danish newspaper Berlingske Tidende in 1919.

On this evening, Elfi Heua, Chairwoman of the DFG NRW e.V. and the Bochum-Witten district group, will guide us through the life of Jean Sibelius with impressive pictures. Dr. Hans-Christian Tacke, cantor of the Friedenskirchengemeinde Bergkamen and organ expert of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia, will provide the musical accompaniment on the grand piano.
