Since February 2009, this lively bow to "the Knef" is part of the repertoire of the Theater der Altstadt, because: "A chanson is a painting of life in three minutes." (Juliette Gréco)
Shortly before her death, Knef was asked how she wanted to be remembered: "It is beautiful IF I am remembered." And she will, as audiences have been coming to the show for 15 years. Over 10,000 since New Year's Eve 2009. You can hardly say existential truths better than Knef: "My chansons come from the word, not from the voice." Hellmuth Karasek: "Knef is about the only one who escaped the schmaltz of the 60s with mother wit, feeling, freckles on her voice, so to speak." Ella Fitzgerald said, "Knef is the greatest singer without a voice."

Susanne Heydenreich, Ruben Dietze and Mikael Bagratuni at the piano present a varied evening of songs and lyrics of the "Knef" and revive a part of Knef's magic in the Theater der Altstadt.
