Vecindades are family gatherings in the backyards of Mexico with lots of good food and music for young and old. The sonideros (DJs) present the latest tunes and best sound systems and the kids crack a piñata. There will be dancing, tasty tacos and a mezcal or two.
With EL BARRIO, we want to build on this vibe and transform the Lattenplatz in front of the KNUST into a big Latin American block party every 2nd Sunday of the month from May to September. There will be street food and drinks, DJ and live music, a children's program and handmade items from the Latin American continent from 2pm to 7pm . We look forward to an intercultural exchange with you on a warm summer evening on Lattenplatz in the heart of St. Pauli. Because our love for the Latin American continent knows no bounds.
