"To be or not to be (also: To be or not to be - Heil Hamlet!) is an American feature film by Ernst Lubitsch from 1942. The comedy with elements of thriller and black humor is based on the play Poland is not yet lost - the name of the Polish national anthem - by the Hungarian playwright Melchior Lengyel. It is about a Warsaw acting troupe that tries to outwit the German Nazi occupiers in various disguises. The main roles are played by Jack Benny and Carole Lombard, who died in a plane crash a month before the premiere. While Being or Not Being was controversial upon its release, today it is considered a brilliant comedy classic by film critics."(Wikipedia)
