Elijah Fox - Improvised Jazz Piano

Elijah Fox is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer from Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Durham, North Carolina and began playing the piano at the age of 11. Early on, he was mentored by Yusuf Salim, a pianist who had played with Charlie Parker and whom Fox met after seeing an ad for a jazz jam session in the local newspaper.
Fox studied piano at Oberlin Conservatory with Sullivan Fortner, Billy Hart and Dan Wall and graduated in 2017 before moving to New York City. His piano composition "East Village" was sampled by Drake and 21 Savage in "Major Distribution" and reached #3 on the Billboard charts. Fox has also recorded and produced for SZA, Masego, YG, ScHoolboy Q, Denzel Curry, Tate McCrae, Musiq Soulchild, Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis, J Cole and many others, as well as releasing his own original compositions and sample packs. His impressionistic piano improvisation "Wyoming" became a viral hit on TikTok and has achieved over 45 million streams on Spotify.
His grandmother was the classical pianist Ruth Peck, who inspired him and his brother Solomon to learn the piano. He is signed as a songwriter/composer to UMPG and as an artist to Atlantic Records. He is also the touring keyboardist for British drummer Yussef Dayes and has performed all over the world. Fox has also performed his own compositions at sold-out concerts in the USA and Europe and has undertaken three improvised solo tours inspired by Keith Jarrett. His sound combines elements of jazz, impressionism and psychedelic soul.
Elijah Fox also releases instrumental music under the alias "Soren Sostrom".
