Kulturhaus Schwanen invites you to a meeting of the arts: The double exhibition "Painting & Poetry" by Elke Lang-Müller and Johanna Klara Kuppe opens on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 7 p.m. on the 1st floor of Kulturhaus Schwanen. The vernissage will be accompanied by music from saxophonist Helmut Knupfer.

Elke Lang-Müller's expressive paintings and Johanna Klara Kuppe's haunting poetry enter into a dialog that appeals to the senses. Lang-Müller's works, influenced by her extensive artistic training, capture moments and emotions in vivid colors, while Kuppe's poems invite us to look at the world from a new perspective

The collaboration between the artists arose from a spontaneous idea: "After I met Johanna Klara Kuppe at a reading, I had the idea of showing her my paintings to see if she could write poems to go with them," explains Lang-Müller. "She immediately said yes and that's how we came together."

The artists and the musician

• Elke Lang-Müller: has been working as an artist since 1973, her works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
• Johanna Klara Kuppe: Poet who conveys profound thoughts and feelings with her words. "Writing means being open in what you create. For me, it's 'don't talk - show'," says Kuppe.
• Helmut Knupfer: The saxophonist likes to play in small ensembles and knows how to acoustically accompany the works of art with his instrument.
