The Elsterbluesband is the result of an unconditional dedication to music, combined with the idea
to bring everything back to basics. A band created to convey, in a raw and unpolished way,
convey the pure joy of playing. The pure energy! A band that sends people off into the night with a
better mood than they had when the evening began—even though they might not have
even wanted to go out in the first place, feeling downcast by life’s adversities.
Yet the three protagonists do not stick to the exact reproduction of all-too-familiar routines
and guidelines, but rather draw on decades of live experience to create
that have emerged over decades of live performance. Here, the joy of playing meets feeling, rock ’n’ roll meets life experience, wit meets skill—it’s the blues lived to the fullest!
