ENERGIEN – Ute Seifert and Friends

Fukushima - no other city stands for the failure of technological fantasies of omnipotence in the nuclear age to such an extent. After the initially very extensive reporting, this historic "incident" has faded into the background in the media despite its enormous global and political relevance. In order to maintain mindfulness and awareness, we are continuing our work, because it is not just Japan, we are all affected and are called upon to go further, as current developments in particular also show this colossal threat in other areas. U. Seifert, W. Y Malik and the other artists invited by U. Seifert met in the context of this thematic group. Since 2011, Ute Seifert has initiated annual projects in the Kunst [ ] Raum Bremen on the subject of "Fukushima" and nuclear energy. The participants have also collaborated on larger-scale projects.
The international group of artists - Ute Seifert, Wittwulf Y Malik (Germany), Chieko Fumikura, Shoko Miki (Japan), Kwanho Yuh (Korea), Frank Fuhrmann (Germany/Venezuela) have now been invited to a joint exhibition at nachtspeicher23.

Each with their own approach, ENERGIES analog and digital are the theme. An idea is an image. An image is an action. An idea becomes an action. An action becomes energy. An action becomes a space. Space for ideas. Space for images. Space for energy.
