The great plays by Bertolt Brecht (1898 - 1956) are known worldwide and are still staged on influential stages today: "The Threepenny Opera", "Mother Courage and Her Children", "Life of Galileo" and many more.
On this evening, you will also get to know the young Brecht: Through his first ballads and texts from "Hauspostille" -a collection of poems from 1927- as well as excerpts from his letters to his friend Caspar Neher. These impressively describe his vitalistic attitude to life and his state of mind as a young and still searching, yet already critical and combative young man.
Let yourself be surprised by a Bertolt Brecht you have never heard before -- and listen to well-known songs such as "Die Moritat von Mackie Messer" or "Lied von der Unzulänglichkeit menschlichen Strebens".
And perhaps after our evening you will see Mr. Brecht with completely different eyes.
