Erfahrungsfeld Demokratie mit dem OMNIBUS

On Saturday, August 22, we’re organizing a “Democracy Experience Zone” on the Freudenberg—in collaboration with “OMNIBUS for Direct Democracy”:

Is democracy under attack? Is someone or something a threat to democracy? Where is democracy headed? Do we need to save it? Or change it? Renew it?

For one day, we’d like to view democracy as a work of art in which we are all—and always—participating.

For many years now, a bond of friendship has existed between the “OMNIBUS for Direct Democracy” and Freudenberg Castle. The first, blue-and-copper OMNIBUS stands watch and issues warnings in the castle park. The eggshell-colored OMNIBUS travels through Germany, stopping along the way so we can work together on the work of art that is democracy.

On August 22, the white OMNIBUS will visit its sister at Freudenberg. In the space created between them, we’ll bring democracy to life.

Together with the artists from Freudenberg, we’re creating a themed day full of guided tours, insights, and artistic interventions:

Starting at 11:22 a.m., there will be hourly sessions exploring the meaning of democracy, shifts in perspective, and a sense of “we.”

Starting at 3:00 p.m., the OMNIBUS invites you to the “Marketplace of Common Ground.” The OMNIBUS opens its doors for a conversation about our shared responsibility to shape the whole. What connects us?
