ERIK COHEN is certainly one of the most unconventional German-language rock musicians of recent years. With seemingly playful ease, he combines what has become second nature to him through his musical socialization and writes rock songs with a palpable joy in gripping melodic arcs, which may be different in their approaches, but create a coherent overall picture in the overall context.
The likeable Kiel native has never cared much for sound pigeonholes and so the genre boundaries in his artistic world remain constantly open and fluid. Classic rock, hard rock, heavy metal, alternative rock, punk and pop need not be mutually exclusive in the end.
