Eröffnung: Maja Behrmann – SEIFEN, IN BLÜTE

With *SEIFEN, IN BLÜTE*, Leipzig-based artist Maja Behrmann is presenting a solo exhibition at G2 Schaulager. Using sculptures, paintings, textiles, and prints, she creates a large-scale installation that engages with the architecture, structures it, and opens up different perspectives on her work.

At the heart of Behrmann’s work lies a poetic and exploratory practice that investigates the multifaceted relationships between form and color, both on the surface and in space. She develops her works from a constantly growing archive of forms that continually generates new constellations. Through her ongoing engagement with this collection—by shifting, repeating, deconstructing, and combining elements—she creates compositions that oscillate between order and openness.

The way the works are staged at the venue plays a decisive role in this process. This applies both to the perception of individual works and to their amplification in space when the works interact with one another and with their viewers. In more recent groups of works, Behrmann also integrates mechanical movement, further expanding the spatial experience. The result is an open structure of material, form, color, and space that continually reorganizes itself in the act of perception.
