Four positions - Rolf Appelbaum, Antonio Bravo Avendaño, Tania Ximena and Tino Kukulies - that deal with contemporary realities in different ways. In photography, video, installation, sculpture and drawing, organic processes, physical tensions, algorithmic alchemy and personal topographies collide, moving back and forth between documentary idea, material condensation and speculative narrative.
They approach the fault lines of our present with their own visual language. Appelbaum's project Heat Wave forms the starting point of the exhibition and reflects climate change and urban tensions. Bravo Avendaño, in search of water, creates temporary spatial interventions between drawing, sculpture and action. Ximena understands landscape as a living territory - geologically and socially charged. In her interdisciplinary practice, she combines mountaineering, volcanology, scientific and historical research with spiritual and personal introspection. In sculptural and photographic works, Kukulies examines the tectonic, medial and material forces of the camera-based image.
The exhibition is curated by Andreas Wünkhaus.
