Opening of the special exhibition at Museum Ephraim-Palais on migrant housing between self-presentation and external perception.
The exhibition "Tapetenwechsel - Migration und Mobiliar seit 1960" is dedicated to housing in the migration society along aesthetic and social questions. Migration always also means furnishing a room, setting up a table, putting up a curtain - and thus realizing home in a foreign country. Is there a pictorial history of migrant living between self-presentation and external perception? Recurring objects and designs?
In an essayistic, polyphonic and fragmentary narrative style, the exhibition combines photographs, objects and documents, artistic works and literary voices. The focus is on Berlin. At the same time, it also looks at other places of migration in Germany.
